Haiti is going through severely difficult times.
Violence, insecurity, kidnappings, and hunger to name a few of the issues of concern.
A very common phrase in Kreyol is to give a fist bump and say "Kenbe Fèm" which essentially means to hang in there.
We are trying to help support our metal art friends who have all been expelled from their workshops by gangs, most of their homes also taken over, and even still, they have overcome and managed to continue working their trade in various locations.
These metal art masterpieces, made from upcycled oil drums, depict two hands giving a fist bump. They can remind you of your Haitian family even when you are far.
Shelove, the metal artist, is in the photo wearing the yellow shirt. He is so excited to have some business in these difficult times.
